EfficienSea - efficient, safe and sustainable transport at sea 

What is it?
EfficienSea is the largest INTERREG project ever. It has a budget of 8 million Euros and is financed by the EU, the Norwegian government and partner organisations.
EfficienSea has been chosen as the flagship project of the European Commission as part of the action plan for the European Union’s Strategy for the Baltic Region.

What is the purpose?
As the overall objective, EfficienSea’s purpose is to improve maritime safety in the Baltic region. We will develop the necessary tools to create a safe, sustainable and efficient traffic at sea. We are working towards common international solutions for less pollution and better management of marine resources.

Who is involved?
EfficienSea consists of 17 partners from 6 countries in the Baltic region. The partners include national authorities, a regional authority, research institutes and maritime organisations.

The Danish Maritime Safety Administration is the leading partner and responsible for the agreement with the EU. The Danish Maritime Safety Administration is executing the project itself, the financial part and the communication around it.
